| Charlie's Wish |
|
Charlie and his family stayed at Give Kids The World Village where they ate ice cream for breakfast! Every day Charlie would ride the merry-go-round and even wrote his name on a gold star that was placed on the ceiling in the Castle of Miracles. Give Kids The World Village had various activities for Charlie and his sister to participate in and several characters came to the Village to sign autographs and pose for photos with them. The family was able to visit all of the Disney parks (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Disney MGM). They also visited Sea World and Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure. The Tower of Terror was Charlie’s favorite ride at Disney’s MGM Studios. Even though the family’s time in Florida was during the biggest cold snap that the region had seen in several years they still had an amazing wish experience.
Charlie’s wish was the 1,000th wish granted in the state of Kansas. Prior to his wish, a celebration was held at Davis Moore, who sponsored the wish. Click here to read more about the 1,00th Wish Celebration. |

Charlie, age 7, from Rose Hill, Kansas likes to read books and watch television and movies. He especially likes SpongeBob and the Jonas Brothers. When asked what he would wish for, if he could wish for anything, Charlie wished to go to Disney World because “it would be fun!” On January 4 of this year, Charlie, his parents and older sister flew off to Central Florida to fulfill Charlie’s wish to go to Disney World.
Charlie’s parents were thankful for the time they were able to spend together as a family. The wish was also a great experience for Charlie’s sister, who has been very patient and understanding during Charlie’s illness, when he was the main focus. Their time in Florida allowed the family to reconnect and share laughs and smiles, without worrying about doctor’s visits and treatment programs. The wish brought hope, strength and joy to Charlie and his family.
