The Mid-Kansas Vintage Thunderbird Club and the Wichita Classic Thunderbirds hosted the 9th Annual DREAM CAR SHOW at New Market Square Saturday, June 26, 2010.
$12,000 dollars was raised to grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich their lives with hope strength and joy. This eclectic exhibit of vehicles delights auto enthusiast of all ages with a variety of classic, customs, hot rods and motorcycles of all makes, models and years. Attendees at the show are aksed to make a $1 donation to vote for their favorite car, the vehicle collecting the most ballots at the end of the day receives a Most Valuable Participant Award. This year the MVP Award went to Kenny Harmony and his 1968 Lincoln Continental. Kress Fall, one of the many dedicated volutneers who started this annual event presented him with the trophy. Harmony dedicated the prize in memory of his son who had a wish granted by Make-A-Wish. Every year a special Make-A-Wish Award is given out. Seven year old Charlie, a past wish recipeint, chose Craig Gantham's 57' Chevy. Charlie and his family were granted a trip of a life-time when they visited Walt Disney World in January 2010. Last year, wish reciepient Brandon had his 1984 Chevy Camero at the car show. He was in the planning stages of having his wish granted. Brandon's wish was to to have his car refurbished. His dream came true recently when almost a year later his wishgranter's presented his car back with a brand new paint job and the enterior completly re-done.
