1,000 Wish Celebration
7-year-old Charlie, who has a rare form of cancer, was the recipient of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Kansas' 1,000th wish. His wish? A trip to Disney World. Charlie and his family departed on January 4th for a once in a lifetime family vacation. But before they left, a party was held honoring this milestone.
A wish celebration party took place on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Davis Moore Lincoln Mercury Dealership, 5817 E. Kellogg at 4:00 p.m. Charley and his family were joined by family, friends and Davis Moore employees to celebrate this milestone with cake, balloons and all the things that make a party! Davis Moore Auto Group sponsored Charley’s wish and company president, Dawson Grimsley - who is an honoary member of the oganizations board, presented a check for $6,500 to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Kansas at the party. “Wishes like these truly do make a difference to the kids and their families. They certainly deserve a wish come true after all they’ve been through. In this life that we live, these are the kinds of things that really matter. All of us at Davis-Moore are very happy for Charley and the Futhey family.” stated Grimsley. On January 4, 2010 - Charlie and his family departed for a week long trip to Central Florida to visit Disney World and other theme parks.
